Young tomato plant - milky substance on branch

by John Cervero
(Branford, CT)

This morning I found on one of my young tomatoe plants ("Better Boy, about 16 inches tall and looking healthy) a white milky substance on the underside of one branch. Can you please help me identify and fix this problem?

Thank You.

hey fellow grower... the powdery or milky substance on your leafs is most likely a mildew of some sort.. try giving the plants more air ciculation (desk fan) you can also try spraying them with a baking soda and water mixture.. if don't wanna go the homemade path per say you can try organic fungicidal sprays.

Hope this helps
