by Don Ploss

The foliage ie. the green portion of the leaf is being eaten. What ever is doing it is leaving the stem portion of the leaf is not touched. The only plant affected is a varity called a grape tomatoe the other plants Big Boy and Early Girl are not being eaten...NOTE: I have checked the leaves and cannot find any insects.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Tomato hornworms

Same thing happening to mine. I guess it's tomato hornworms; they're big green catapillar looking things and gross. You're supposed to hand pick them off if you see them. I found a three-incher the other day. We smashed it but you're supposed to put it in soapy water, so I thought I'd spray with Dawn dish soap, just a little in a spray bottle of water; hopefully it helps. They've eaten over six of my plants and now they're after my cherry tomatoes. Hope this helps.
