Sudden Disease in Thriving Plants - White Spots

by Bob R
(Arlington, Virginia)

I've grown tomatoes for about 20 years. For the past 4 years, just about this time of year as the plants are thriving and the fruit has set, they get small white spots on the leaves and then start to wilt and die, though the fruit continues to mature. Do you have any idea what the problem is?

White spots on tomaoes
by: Iris

Hi Bob I am from South Australia I am a novice sort of with tomatoes. We have been growing tomatoes for the last 18 years. So We are having a lot more problems with tomatoes here than before. My son has given me some seeds of the pink lady tomato they are very fleshy with few seeds. He has been having great success with these. Sorry I cannot help but it is nice to hear other people's problems with their tomatoes. Iris
