My Tomato Crop
Compost.
LOTS of mulch.
Stake early and maintain.
Do not water foliage or in evening hours.
Regularly remove the suckers at leaf joints.
Try to set up irrigation with a soaker hose that will provide necessary water as needed.
Watch for insect and blight symptoms and take appropriate measures.
KEEP FOLIAGE AND FRUIT OFF THE SOIL!
I write this from the experience of a late blight infestation in 2010. This year I had a bountiful crop. Also a 2 1/4 pound tomato.
