Question about Blossom End Rot - Photos

Is there a chemical preventative measure one can take with "Blossom-End Rot" disease?

And, why does this disease take place in the tomato?

Eliminating blossom end rot NEW

I don't think there is a chemical preventative for blossom end rot. All the literature says it forms when not enough calcium is available . Applying calcium/lime to the soil after tomatoes are forming is probably going to take too long to work.
I suggest you spray a foliar calcium / liquid
lime on your plants ASAP. You get fast absorption. A couple of applications may be necessary. I use one sold by
