Some of my tomatoes have little lines all around the tomato top and another tomato has a slit /split.

Can anyone suggest why is this happening?

Thank you.

Splitting tomatoes
by: The Green Buffalo

Most splits in tomatoes are due to the fruit swelling from excess water. This is more of a problem when tomatoes are not being watered regularly and are smaller than they could be. Then then a heavy rain or watering occurs and splits happen. Splits near the top are not too bad. Splits in the middle of the fruit usually open up deeper underneath the skin and expose more of the tomato
