Every tomato develops a dark spot

by City Mamaw

We have a 5' tomato plant, but each tomato that gets to be about 1" big, gets a dark spot on it and goes bad. My plant is in a pot and gets watered every day. The soil in the pot is miraclegrow. What am I doing wrong? Help.

Could be anthracnose
by: Clark

That sounds like it could be anthracnose, a common tomato disease that can be controlled with a fungicide. Check out the article and apply the recommended treatments on that page, which are all good gardening practices even if my diagnosis is incorrect. A picture would help.

You could also take a tomato (in a plastic bag) to a good garden center and ask a professional.
