Bug Pest Creating holes in tomatoes

by Cindy Sanford

I put in the garden 15 tomato plants and everyone seems to have 1 quarter inch hole in it. If more than one hole the tomato seems to have a sticky gooey clear substance covering the tomato and surrounding leaves. Not sure what causes this as this is the first year I've had a pest problem with tomatoes. I also have tons of slugs this year and they seem to climb high. I haven't seen them on my tomatoes as much as the kale and squash plants. Any idea what this could be?
